Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Product to lead our product management team and drive the strategic direction of our product portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing and scaling products in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on product management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Define and communicate the overall product vision and strategy in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities and customer needs through market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines short-term and long-term goals and milestones.

2. Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product managers, ensuring their professional growth and development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages creativity and accountability.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.

3. Product Development and Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and concept validation to launch and post-launch optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.

4. Customer Focus and Market Understanding:

  • Champion a customer-centric approach to product development, ensuring that customer needs and feedback are at the forefront of decision-making.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to continuously improve the product experience.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to inform product strategy and positioning.

5. Performance Measurement and Optimization:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product success and impact.
  • Analyze product performance data and use insights to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement A/B testing and other experimentation techniques to validate hypotheses and optimize features.

6. Stakeholder Management and Communication:

  • Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, and other departments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for product-related inquiries and ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Present product updates and performance reports to stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and next steps.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in product management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in [specific industry or domain relevant to the company].

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of product management methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency with product management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Aha!, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of software development processes and agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques to drive data-informed decision-making.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution and attention to detail.
